Ray of Hope Initiative

We have financially supported Anchorpoint in other programs and they are doing great work here in the North Hills.  This is about a new program, Ray of Hope,  that focuses on those in need of help with little financial means to obtain that help.

The Ray of Hope initiative removes cost barriers to needed mental health treatment and educational support for local children and teens who are uninsured, under-insured, and/or under-resourced. This initiative benefits youth who (1) present with significant mental health or educational needs AND (2) have documented financial hardships. It allows these young clients to access the help they need on a “pay what you can” basis so they can navigate and overcome significant issues and problems like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, academic struggles, and peer pressure/bullying. Recent cases include:

  •    a young child who suffered physical and verbal/emotional abuse from multiple parental figures
  •    two siblings with chronic medical conditions who lost a parent to a drug overdose
  • an early teen who is struggling with suicidal thoughts
